On Thursday as I snapped pictures of Nelita's gorgeous/perfect belly, I told her that I'd recently heard of a woman who took her maternity pictures one day and then the very next day....went into labor! Of course, Nelita still had a couple weeks until her due date and so we knew that wouldn't happen to her...

David texts me, "Hey...we are at the hospital. We suspect this is the real deal."

And it was! Baby Crawford was born head and hand first at a small, but wiry, 7 lbs. 13 oz. with his name yet to be determined. We all called him "baby" for the first few hours of holding and staring. He was and is the most precious and perfect little boy! Big brother Oliver (3) was rooting for a boy and says that the new baby "sleep all da time"....but that will change, Oliver, just wait! "Sissy" Ellis (18 mo) is now forever the middle of a brother sandwich. (Ellis, I happen to think that is a pretty great way to travel through life.)

So, here in one post is the 24-hour whirlwind that ended in the earlier-than-expected but highly anticipated arrival of little Lawrence Isaac Ranjith Crawford. What a privilege it was to be present for such a special moment! All my love to you, Crawfords!

And then the next morning...
