WELL, HELLO!

My name is Emily! I'm a Spokane-based wedding, lifestyle and commercial photographer smitten with telling true stories. I'm a connector, vision-caster, creator, cheerleader, director, but most importantly--a helper! That's my biggest role as a photographer...helping you capture your moments and purpose in beautiful ways. I'm drawn to the fine lines and quirky juxtapositions of life. I don't want to tell a story I saw on Pinterest or a story I've told before; I want to tell your one-of-a-kind story!

I've been shooting weddings and families for nine years, and I’m still in love with the unique experiences, plans, personalities and beauty that each client brings to the table! My style of shooting is organic, happy, positive, and easy-going. I didn't get into this because I dreamed of perfectly pressed napkins or utterly well-behaved families...nope! I love shooting weddings and families because of the opposite, actually… I'm in love with the surprising, honest, quirky ways that love brings people together. So you don’t have to ever worry that your family is “too much” or that you “haven’t been in front of the camera much” … My favorite thing to shoot is people honestly, simply coming as they are!

I have an MFA in creative non-fiction writing from Antioch Univeristy in Los Angeles. My love for writing goes hand in hand with what I love about photography… because the elements that makes a good written story are the same ones that makes a good photo: honesty, emotion, and the unveiling of quirky and lovable characters!

I’m lucky in love with my husband Tommy whom I’ve known since childhood and who, when we were dating, gave me a bouquet of asparagus instead of flowers and then cooked it for dinner. He's the perfect kind of romancer for me! We love doing life alongside each other. We have three amazing kids—Ruby, Indiana, and Pendleton. They give us more love and joy than we could ever deserve!

Thank you so much for being here. Thank you for considering me in documenting part of your story. It’s an honor every time!

Xo, Emily
