2023 in Review

Still pinching myself that this is my job! I thought I’d take a minute share what inspired me this year and also what I’m looking forward to in 2024!

This year I took on a smaller number of weddings—10 spread out across the year. That seems to be the magical number for me and I’ll be capping my bookings at 10 this year again. Each wedding was a joy and I looked forward to each so much! With more time free in the summer, it allowed me to photograph more families. They (you all) bring me so much joy. I love that you’re all so different and that makes every session new and fresh. I found myself thriving in sessions around or in the water, inside your homes (big and small, modern or of older vintage—all were inspiring!), shooting through windows, and getting playful with movement and blur (I dragged that shutter for a few images in almost every shoot this season!) While I love a good earth tone, I just cannot deny a love for COLOR. And it shows in this Year in Review collection! I did a handful of commercial/branding shoots this year and even got to work with a food stylist and shoot a number of fancy and beautiful recipes for a special project.

In 2024, my goal is to keep pushing myself to tell stories that feel true to my subjects and trying out fresh ways of doing that. On a less glamorous “goals note”, I have big hopes to streamlining the back end of my business. I want communications, bookings, contracts, questionnaires, email lists to serve you better! I know that every improvement I can make to the “boring” part of business will result in more time and energy to MAKE AMAZING THINGS and TELL TRUE STORIES for my couples and families.

Thank you truly for hiring me and believing in my art. You support my family, but you also allow me to do something that brings me so much happiness and that is no small thing!

One last note! If you have worked with me this year, would you take a minute to leave me a review? This helps me immensely especially as I continue to establish locally. Okay, enough of my jabber! Here it is:

2024 in Review—a few images from every session I shot this year. Hope you enjoy!
